my crush on costas mandylor has led me to watch movies i wouldn't even watch with a gun placed to my head

  • Review by elias ★★ 3

this is the costas mandylor soft porn movie that i watched solely because of my saw brainrot
    Highlights include:
    - Costas Mandylor gets on the ground to bark at a dog. Loudly.
    - His love interest later looks at a photo of that scene and whispers "beautiful"
    - He cheats on her, proving the "Hoffman whore" hypothesis
    - fascists?? for some reason?? why would u want fascists in your ~Erotic Movie~
its soooo bad lmao but unfortunately im a hoffman stan so

Zalman King treats Anaïs Nin with respect, pulling directly from narration passages and also dismissing the unknown person who demands a lack of intimacy in her text and instead wants only details of bodily organs without the flowery language. "Leave out the poetry, concentrate on sex, only sex" the buyer of her text asks, and she asks "does anyone experience pleasure from reading clinical descriptions?" His response, "I want graphic description, hard edged and unadorned" which is essentially what pornography became, as much as Nin and later Zalman King attempted to focus on the inner workings of female pleasure (Nin in writing, King making sure capillaries blush) . Well, King's direction does the opposite of pornography as the organs matter…

Extra star for both times costas’s ass was on screen.

  • Review by Adam Hursey ★★ 1

I had a friend in high school who had an enormous crush on Costas Mandylor. I'm not even sure where she first saw him. Soapdish perhaps? Or maybe it was just the previews for that 90s gangster flick Mobsters, which I had forgotten even existed (so much so that I didn't have it marked as watched on my LB account), but suddenly remember going to see at the theater opening weekend. In 1991, I would have been 15 or 16, so going to an R rated movie was always a chance of getting turned away by some overzealous usher on a power trip.

I have a bit of a baby face, even nearing 50 years old. People said I would…

  • Review by Robert Hayes ★★½

There's about half of a good movie in here, surrounded on either side by a stupid and pretentious love story that I couldn't have given two shits about. Superficially, this was a well-directed film with decent cinematography, good music, and suitably titillating erotic scenes (as one would expect from Zalman King). The problem is that the two leads are a bit wooden. The film also toyed with saying some deeper things about the relationship between transgressive sexuality and radical/authoritarian politics, but it amounted to little more than period window dressing. While I didn't actively dislike this overall, I can only hope that further forays into Zalman King's work will be a little better. (At some point in the future, I will be watching 9 1/2 Weeks.)

what do I need to say? I only watched this because of Costas (the saw brainrot is very real)
    I mean;
him asking "do you want me to make love to you?" in that raspy voice,
them fucking on the ground like the dog he is (literally barking),
seeing his naked chest and those massive pecs (best man tits ever),
    seeing Costas' naked ass,
    hearing him panting and moaning!!
    I'm trembling
literally just me screaming at my screen for 99 minutes straight, uhm, I mean gay

You Mark Hoffman and Costas Mandylor stans need to get a grip (it’s me, I’m stans)

  • Review by Vulture ★★★★ 5

    I don't watch p*rn -Costas Mandylor

so that's what he sounds like I won't elaborate...anyway I powered through this film cause obviously it's Costas and I'm a major simp for Hoffman but this felt like 50 shades of grey with worse dialogue but....the highlights are.... Costas..... Costas and Costas ...oh and he Barked like a dog ....I never knew I needed that but here I am....I can't tell if I love or hate this film it was like a dream true.... But I can say...it didn't have enough of him in this at least not on screen, when I said I liked Romance this wasn't what I meant!! Is it bad I want to buy this like a physical copy? I am sorry to my brother for making him watch this with me
